Juanita Perez Williams’ Statement on Vice President Pence’s Visit and Fundraiser for Rep. Katko
SYRACUSE, NY — In response to Vice President Pence’s visit to Syracuse to campaign on behalf of Rep. John Katko on Tuesday, June 19, Juanita Perez Williams released the following statement:
“Once again, John Katko reveals his true colors. On Monday, Katko gives lip service to ending the inhumane separation of children from their families. The next day, he welcomes the Vice President with open arms to campaign on his behalf, buying his seat back at a thousand dollars a plate. He’s failed to find a real solution to our broken immigration system. He feigns breaking rank, and then votes 91% of the time with President Trump. His hypocrisy is unacceptable. I call on Katko to reject Pence’s support until this cruel and abhorrent policy is reversed and every child is reunited with their families. Mark my words — voters will remember this day and Katko’s hypocrisy come November.”
